Anatomy of Human Destructiveness

Are we set on a course of self-destruction?

Our species sits at a crossroads in our social evolution that will either take us to the brink of annihilation, peering into the jaws of Hades with world-wide chaos so climactic that it will make an eternity of torture at the hands of Satan and all his little minions seem like a day at the seaside—or, if we can stop bickering and realize the oneness of the human race (i.e. get over our pettiness, bigotry and pathetic prejudices), create the elusive technologically driven utopia we were sold as kids.

Staring down the barrel of global warming, one has to ponder what the future holds. What are the implications for us thirty to forty years from now? How will that affect our kids, our livelihoods? While politicians argue over cutting spending vs. raising taxes to raise the debt ceiling, in the process extending the recession and playing financial Russian roulette with the global economy for political gain, the issue of global warming once again gets pushed to the back burner.

While the United States still ponders whether global warming is a reality (the only developed country in the world to do so [thanks in no small part to the misinformation of the Fox News propaganda machine]), other countries are either holding back for economic reasons or because they don’t want to be the first or only ones taking the leap of faith.

The LYTRO Revolution

New camera tech could make focusing a thing of the past

A new technology start-up is aiming to introduce a new digital photography technology that allows for post-picture taking re-focusing.

California-based Lytro is developing a new form of image sensor that's able to capture not just the intensity but the direction light is moving within a camera which, the firm said, provides a host of benefits over traditional image sensors.

It's been a long time...

...I shouldn't have left you, but I had no rhyme to step to.

Well, it's been a while since I posted on here - don't shoot me! But, that's what happens when your life is consumed with the arrival of a new baby. When I say 'baby' I mean business.

The last year and a half has been a whirlwind of meetings, campaigns RFPs and the usual craziness that goes along with running a small digital ad agency.

Now that the agency is properly up and running, it's time for a little photographic fun. Over the coming months I will be looking to team-up with other photographers, artists, models stylists etc. to work on a set of art projects for the sake of the art itself, so stay tuned and check back for updates from time to time and if you want to see what else I've been unto, take a look at XD Theory.

Parting Words

Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy

Last weekend, my wife and I had to make one of the hardest decisions we've ever made as a couple – namely putting our cat to sleep. To some of you this may seem silly and sentimental, but the pet lovers amongst you will undoubtedly be able to relate to this short tale of how a feral kitten from downtown LA changed our lives forever.

Found running around in the rat infested alleys around the back of the old LA Theater, Graham (then two months old), was taken to the South LA animal shelter where on a hazy Californian July afternoon, my wife and I spotted him and decided to give him a new home and a new hope.

He immediately caught our eyes due to his calm and composed demeanor, sitting quietly while the other cats howled and vied for the attention of passing humans. Instead, Graham sat there quietly gazing into our eyes, with a slightly quizzical look on his face, ignoring even the batting paws of a kitten in an adjacent cage trying to swipe through the bars. In hindsight, he was probably in shock from the ordeal of capture and terrified by the cacophony created by these gigantic bustling beings (humans); but this unshakable, stoic little “small-for-his-age” kitten left an indelible print in our hearts.
